Push For Open Carry Comes Up Again In Florida

State Rep. Matt Gaetz is leading the latest attempt to pass an “open carry” gun law in Florida to repeal the state’s outdated laws on open carry.

In a Facebook post in July, Gaetz – who is seeking the Senate seat held by his father, former Senate President Don Gaetz – called Florida “an outlier” in prohibiting the open carry of firearms.

The Shalimar Republican filed HB 163 on Monday; in part, the bill would allow a person licensed to carry a concealed firearm or weapon to “also openly carry such firearm or weapon.”

“Texas recently made the change and it’s time we change too,” he wrote. “Share if you believe in protecting our 2nd Amendment freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution.”

HB 163 (PDF) would allow a concealed carrier to also open carry a firearm, chemical spray, or stun gun.

Furthermore, the bill affirms:

The right to bear arms and defend one’s self is a fundamental and individual right that exists in any place that a person has the right to be, subject only to exceptionally and narrowly tailored restrictions that employ the least possible restriction on the right in order to achieve a compelling government interest.

Miss South Carolina Gives Pro-Gun Answers to Anti-Gun Question in Miss America Pageant

During the Miss America pageant, Miss South Carolina Daja Dial was asked if she would support an assault weapons ban when it was her turn to answer questions during the September 13 Miss America pageant. Dial said she would not support such a measure, and explained that she believes a clearer focus on firearm education is of greater value than gun control.

The question about gun control came from Amy Purdy, who said, “America loves our Second Amendment, but gun violence continues to be a tragic problem. Do you support a ban on military-style assault weapons?”

Dail stated: “I don’t [support such a ban]…we need to increase education. We have to go back there. If we teach people the proper way to use guns, then we will reduce the risk of having gun-related accidents. It starts with education”.

Even before she could finish answering, Dial’s response received massive applause, demonstrating strong support for gun rights despite the establishment’s ongoing gun grabbing campaign.

 

While the question was crafted to make it seem that gun violence may be on the rise, actual firearm homicide rates are near historic lows, according to Pew Research Center statistics.

Despite not taking the crown Miss Carolina took the fans favorite.

College students are being taught into believing 9/11 was our fault

America-hating leftist professors are systematically indoctrinating [students] into believing it’s all our fault, that the US deserved punishment for “imperialism” — and the kids are too young to remember or understand what really happened that horrific day.

Case in point is a freshman-level English class taught at several major universities across the country called “The Literature of 9/11” — which focuses almost entirely on writings from the perspective of the Islamic terrorists, rather than the nearly 3,000 Americans who were slaughtered by them.

The syllabus, which includes books like “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” and “Poems from Guantanamo: Detainees Speak,” portray terrorists as “freedom fighters” driven by oppressive US foreign policies.

Even highly ranked University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has adopted the curriculum. The 9/11 seminar is taught by UNC associate English professor Neel Ahuja, who specializes in “post-colonial studies.”

In Ahuja’s twisted worldview, al Qaeda terrorists are the real victims. “Abu Zubaydah’s torture may be interpreted as simply one more example of the necropower of US imperialism, the power to coerce and kill targeted populations,” Ahuja recently wrote in an academic paper criticizing the war on terror.

He says America’s depiction of the 9/11 terrorists as “monsters” is merely an attempt to “animalize” them as insects and justify “squashing” them in “a fantasy of justice.”

This colonialist “construct” of an “animalized enemy,” he added, “dovetails with the work of mourning the nation after 9/11 (which in the logic of security must be made perpetual, melancholic).” To him, it’s all cynically designed to justify more “imperial violence” against “Muslim, Arab and South Asian men.”

Ahuja goes on to decry the US “colonization” of Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan, along with “aerial bombing (and) indefinite detention” of al Qaeda terrorists at Gitmo. In other writings, the professor bashes Israel and sides with Palestinian terrorists, further revealing his agenda.

Cuomo: those against gun control “delusional”

Exploiting tragedy has become routine among America’s gun control tycoons. This time, the culprit is Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY).

On Monday morning, the First Deputy Counsel for Empire State Development, Carey Gabay, was shot by a stray bullet during pre-festivities ahead of the Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn. He is currently in critical condition at Kings County Hospital Center. After showing remorse for the terrifying incident, Cuomo swiftly took the opportunity to reintroduce his gun control agenda and shame anyone who doesn’t agree with him as “delusional.”

“How many incidents do we have to have, how many weeks do we have to have with the same story over and over and over about the insanity that this country is allowing to continue with violence and loss of life of innocent people because we have people who have no business having guns, having guns,” Cuomo, a Democrat, told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota on Tuesday.

The liberal governor’s objective is to now make a federal gun control initiative law of the land. He is perhaps hoping to expand on his success in getting the SAFE Act passed in the Empire State.

The SAFE Act, which bans the sale of AR-15s, labeled by the Cuomo administration as ‘assault weapons,’ is not as popular as the governor would like to believe. Within the first year of its implementation, over 1,200 felonies had been tallied against gun owners because of the bill’s severely strict guidelines. As you can imagine, gun owners were not happy about it.

Cuomo’s inability to understand the ideology of anyone other than himself was also evident last January, when he said pro-life conservatives weren’t welcome in New York.

Time and research have proven that anti-gun laws are not effective in preventing mass shootings, for criminals still have ways of getting their hands on them. Yet, that won’t stop leftist progressive gun control activists from taking advantage of every unfortunate opportunity to pursue the same failed agenda.

Gun Sales Spike Again, Highest Number of Checks for August Ever

Progressives and socialist keep stoking the fires of hatred against civil society, and Americans are responding by buying more and more guns.

FBI data suggests gun sales in the U.S. shot up in August after a barrage of high-profile shootings led to renewed calls for stronger firearm laws.

The FBI posted 1.7 million background checks required of gun buyers at federally-licensed dealers — the highest number seen in any August since the checks began in 1998, according to a USA TODAY report published Saturday.

It turns out it was a very busy summer for gun lovers.

The soaring tally comes on the heels of monthly highs for June (1.5 million) and July (1.6 million), a stretch that spanned a series of deadly gun attacks from Charleston to Roanoke.

“Whenever there is a call for gun control, sales increase,” said Larry Keane, general counsel for the firearm industry trade association National Shooting Sports Foundation.

NICS only tracks the number of background checks (including so-called “online” sales and sales from FFLs at gun shows and other venues), not the actual number of guns sold in each transaction. While there is no way of knowing precisely how many firearms there are in the United States, best-guess estimates put the tally at between 300-350 million, with millions more being sold every year.

Calls for more gun control laws by the socialist perceptions of an increase in violent crime, and a general distrust of a federal government that seems to be going rogue are among the key reasons citizens are purchasing more firearms.

Bible Verse Etched in to AR-15 to Keep Muslim Terrorists from Using It

Gun manufacturer Spike’s Tactical has introduced a new AR-15 with a Bible verse etched upon it in order to prevent Muslim terrorists from handling or using the weapon.

Spike’s Tactical is located in Apopka, Florida.

The AR-15 is listed as The Crusader Rifle on the manufacturer’s website, described as a “lightweight mid-length rifle,” built to be used for tactical applications or for competition. The words of Psalm 144:1—”Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle” are etched upon the right side of the gun’s lower, while a cross and shield are etched upon the left side.”

Along the AR-15’s safety lever are the Latin words “Pax Pacis” (Peace), “Bellum” (War), and “Deus Vult” (God Wills It). Peace is the gun’s safe position while “War” is the gun’s fire position.

According to WTSP 10 News, Spike’s Tactical spokesman Ben “Mookie” Thomas explained why the company decided to create the Crusader:

“Right now and as it has been for quite some time, one of the biggest threats in the world is and remains Islamic terrorism. We wanted to make sure we built a weapon that would never be able to be used by Muslim terrorists to kill innocent people or advance their radical agenda”.
